The Village Pump
Here we are playing at the Village Pump in Trowbridge last night. Both bands went down well with the captive audience. The venue is usually a folk music venue hence all the instruments decorating the walls, but I don't think the usual clientele would have appreciated us somehow.
We recently added a cover version of Metal by Gary Numan to our set which fits in really well and adds a nice flavour of hard core futurism from 1979.

Electrical Language. Cherry Red. 31st May 2019.
Electrical Language: Independent British Synth Pop 78-84, Various Artists, 4CD/48pp Bookpack on Cherry Red Records
This comes out on the 31st of May and can be pre-ordered from the Cherry Red website.
Laugh Clown Laugh feature at track five on the second disk.
‘Electrical Language’ captures this time and place in microscopic detail. The uptempo would-be hits with suburban nightclub aspirations, the science and technology enthralled proto-techno workouts and the otherworldy experiments are all here, sitting comfortably amongst each other in some cases, jostling for position in others. This was a post-punk revolution of another kind, played out on a stage free of the traditional boundaries and limitations, entirely alien to anybody over twenty-five and enthralled by the new and the exotic. For the first time in a while, the future looked bright, albeit illuminated with electric light.

Hexavalent chromium
Inhaled hexavalent chromium is recognized as a human carcinogen.[4] Workers in many occupations are exposed to hexavalent chromium. Problematic exposure is known to occur among workers who handle chromate-containing products and those who grind and/ or weld stainless steel.[4] Workers who are exposed to hexavalent chromium are at increased risk of developing lung cancer, asthma, or damage to the nasal epithelia and skin.[2] Within the European Union, the use of hexavalent chromium in electronic equipment is largely prohibited by the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive.

Electronic Sound Magazine No 04
It's four years now since the release of the album, and at the time there was an interview put out in October 2013, issue no 04 of a new magazine dedicated to electronic music called Electronic Sound. The magazine was only available via the app store at the time but can now by purchased as a beautiful glossy hard copy magazine, currently at issue no 34. We're not quite sure why the article was titled Merry Pranksters, I assure you there was no pranking involved although plenty of merry making! This article is up for the first time here outside of the magazine.
The Album is still available on vinyl from Medical Records
and on CD from this website or direct.

Thanks to Will for providing the speaker system and DJ Pestle for seaming together an excellent set of early eighties New Wave, Disco and Electronic records. After an early start at 7 we managed to wrap it up by about 12.30 ish.

Bedroom Cassette Masters 1980 - 89 Volume Four
Aside from the new album, LCL also have a track on this excellent new compilation album just out containing tons of stuff evoking a dystopian future as seen from a 1980's semi-detached council house upstairs bedroom recording studio. Lots of info about all the bands included.
